The PSA Italy terminals are a fundamental stage for the raw materials and finished goods of the Boero Group, the Genoese company that from 1831 represents Italian excellence in the sector producing paint products for the construction and yacht building industries.

You just have to look around you when walking in any city centre to find yourself surrounded by the exterior colours created by the historic paintworks of the Boero Group, a company that today, after almost 200 years of history, is recognised as an Italian excellence and world player in the sector of paint products for the construction and boat building industries.

In 2019, for example, the Boero brand participated as a technical partner in the restoration of the historic and colourful facades of the buildings in Havana on the occasion of the substantial urban renewal undertaken by the local government for the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Cuba’s capital. In Italy, Boero has created over 80 colour schemes for urban centres throughout the country: from the study of the colours for buildings of particular historical and architectural importance, to overall chromatic schemes, to the suggestion of new tones in harmony with the environment to their actual creation and the definition of the most suitable products for the finishings.

In addition to the vast range of products for the building industry, there are those dedicated to the yacht building sector, able to satisfy the requests of both private individuals and the shipyards building luxury yachts. The products, with the brand names Boero Yacht Coatings and Veneziani Yachting, comprise a range of primers, sealants, varnishes, anti-fouling paints and other products for the painting, repair and maintenance of boats. PSA Italy for the Boero Group

With over 5,000 customers in 50 countries and a group turnover of over 90 million euros, overseas markets have become an essential part of the company’s development. Hazardous goods at PSA Italy terminals

Many of the Boero Groups’s products fall within the category of “hazardous goods”, a definition that ranges from products destined for use by industry to those in common use such as perfumes and detergents. These goods are managed in designated yards constantly monitored by specialised personnel. The PSA Genova Pra’ yard has a ground slot capacity of 1480 TEUs, while that of PSA SECH 549 TEUs.

The PSA Italy terminals were the first Italian operators to introduce real time risk evaluation, the computerised management of hazardous goods, and the relative safety procedures in case of emergency. This web platform, denominated Hacpack, can be used by the terminal personnel responsible for the supervision and management of the hazardous goods yards both from the desktop and from mobile devices.

The containerized hazardous goods are parked in yards according to the international segregation criteria, and safety documents also indicating emergency procedures are always available for each one. The operators are aware of the exact position of the containers with hazardous goods and their content at all times. This is essential for the optimal management of goods that require handling with particular precautions. At present, the volume of containers holding dangerous goods transported annually is about 25,000 for PSAGP and 6,000 for PSA SECH.
