PSA has a certified VGM weighing station, compliant with the Solas guidelines, positioned near the cargo office of the PSA Genova Pra’ terminal.

Its position means that truck drivers no longer have to deviate from their route and can obtain the certified weight of the container destined for export just before entering the terminal via the truck gate. The VGM data is immediately transmitted digitally to all subjects involved and completes the information required for access to the export holding areas.

In order to render this service even more accessible, the booking system for weighing, using the PSA portal, is linked to the VGM Consortium’s “Truck it easy” App, which is already used by truck drivers for accessing numerous services. In this way, users of VGM Consortium can book a weigh-in at the PSA Genova Pra’ terminal directly on the App, without other steps being required, as is currently the case for other installations in Italy. 

In parallel, alongside the savings in time and kilometres for truck drivers, which the structure’s position facilitates, and the integration with VGM Consortium, PSA has established a new and more competitive rate, which provides the users of the Port of Genova Pra’ with a product that is not only practical but also economically advantageous.
