PSA ITALY: PSA GENOVA PRA’ AND PSA SECH TERMINALS RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS ANTI-CORRUPTION CERTIFICATION

PSA Italy has announced the completion of the ISO 37001 certification process for the corruption prevention management system by its terminals in the port of Genoa, i.e. PSA SECH and PSA Genova Pra'.

This important milestone underlines PSA Italy's ongoing commitment to ethical and transparent business practices, in line with the path started with ‘The Code’, the code of ethics adopted by PSA International and subject to continuous updating, which embodies the values of PSA terminals worldwide and guides the choices of all employees, especially when no one is watching. The ethical standards, defined as the principles of right and wrong, guide the way we operate, ensuring consistency with our values and corporate manifesto: at PSA International, ethics are measured through a commitment to excellence, dedication to customers, people-centricity, global integration and working Alongside.

In a crucial sector such as ports, where transparency and integrity are fundamental, the PSA Italy terminals have taken a significant step by becoming a virtuous example on the national scene – said Roberto Ferrari, managing director of the three terminals of PSA Italy – By adopting ISO 37001 certification, PSA Italy has demonstrated a concrete commitment to the prevention of corruption, raising its operating standards and becoming a reference model for the entire sector.’

The UNI EN ISO 37001 standard defines the requirements for an effective anti-corruption management system: the certification, issued by the independent body SGS, attests that PSA Italy's Genovese terminals have implemented rigorous measures to prevent, detect and tackle corruption.
PSA Genova Pra' S.p.a. obtained the certification on 3 January 2025, valid for three years, demonstrating the attention paid to the organisation, planning and delivery of port services, including the activities of embarking, disembarking, handling and loading and unloading containerised and non-containerised cargo. Similarly, PSA SECH - Terminal Contenitori Porto Di Genova S.p.a., certified since 2018, was recertified on 11 October 2024 with validity until 10 October 2027, covering the management of the port terminal in all its phases, from disembarkation to embarkation, from storage to shipment of containers and containerised goods.
At the same time, the PSA Venice - Vecon terminal is also preparing to be certified in the course of 2025.

The adoption of the ISO 37001-certified management system consolidates the 231/2001 Organisational Model of the PSA SECH and PSA Genova Pra' terminals, and improves risk analysis, enhances the internal control system, increases monitoring of activities in addition to learning from internal audits and dialogue with the certification body (SGS).

The commitment to transparency and legality reinforces PSA Italy's reputation, and also contributes to a fairer and more sustainable business environment for the entire port sector: PSA Italy's initiative is a successful case study that demonstrates how a proactive and structured approach to corruption prevention can lead to tangible benefits in terms of operational efficiency, corporate reputation and long-term sustainability.
